We are proud to annouce that our film, Si’la, has been accepted to the Baghdad Film Connection. The film is produced by, Tracy Keshek and written by award winning writer/director Israa Al-Kamali , who also co-founded the first Iraqi Film Festival. The story begins during post war Iraq, 2003 where Si’la (inspired by the Iraqi folkloric tale of a Jinn named, Si’la) a monstrous creature born from the use of depleted uranium, takes revenge on those that would harm the land.
The Baghdad Film Connection takes place September 26-27 and is sponsored by streaming platform 1001 and Katara Studios. Five films were chosen to participate in the first annual event and we are proud to have our film, Si’la as one of them.
